Our Mission
The mission of WINGS is to provide comprehensive breast health care services to women and men in Illinois regardless of their ability to pay. This includes funding for breast health care services, including physicians' fees, outpatient medication and hospital charges.
WINGS (Women Involved in Nurturing, Giving, Sharing) is a non-profit Illinois Corporation whose mission is to bring top-quality breast care
Early detection is the best treatment for breast cancer. To this end, low-cost or no-cost mammograms are made available to the uninsured and underinsured women of this area. However, statistics indicate that follow-up and treatment often fall victim to socio-economic pressures.
WINGS is designed to fund treatment of women whose mammograms indicate anomalies. This treatment and related services will be available to WINGS through contracted pricing thus giving this fledgling organization an opportunity to begin serving these women as soon as initial funding is secured.
WINGS is designed to fill the vacuum that exists between detection and treatment. Its goal is to develop referral sources throughout the community and, in concert with organizations dedicated to education and outreach, bring quality care to women with breast cancer. WINGS' success will be measured by the number of people seeking this treatment, as well as key indicators defined by the American Cancer Society.
Physicians aligned with WINGS will work with physicians and radiologists at key community clinics to develop a source of patient referrals. This is an entirely new treatment venue in Illinois. By melding the charitable, non-profit organization WINGS with a strong physicians' practice group, all patients will receive the benefits of quality care and "one-stop" shopping.
